The fantasy bestseller The Whispering Books: Silvermoon

Interview

I sat down with Cassy and Ray for a cozy chat at Hot & Sweet. You can read all about it below. P.S.: The coffee at Nick’s café really is as good as everyone says!!!

Hear what Cassy has to tell us!

An interview with Cassy Sterling just hours after her first encounter with the Whisperers.

Question by Michael Hamannt

Michael: Cassy, thank you for taking the time for this interview! Your first encounter with the Whisperers sounds incredible. Can you tell us what happened that day?

Cassy's Response

Cassy: Of course. It all started with my search for a new job. I had been walking around the city for hours with no luck at all. Eventually, I needed a break and headed to the harbor. But suddenly, I found myself in a small, abandoned alley. That’s where I saw them for the first time.

Question by Michael Hamannt

Michael: The Whisperers, right? What went through your mind at that moment?

Cassy's Response

Cassy: I thought I had stumbled into a nightmare. They looked... inhuman. Pale as ghosts, with tattooed faces, and the tattoos moved as if they were alive. Their eyes were completely black. When they approached and whispered, “Give it to us!” I had no idea what they meant. It was pure horror!

Question by Michael Hamannt

Michael: How did you manage to escape that dangerous situation?

Cassy's Response

Cassy: Honestly, I thought it was the end for me. But then, out of nowhere, someone appeared—the guy I had given my last five pounds to that morning. He saved me. I’ve never seen anyone fight like that. He was incredibly fast. He told me to run while he faced those nightmarish creatures.

“He had such a warm, calming presence that I immediately felt safe.”

Question by Michael Hamannt

Michael: That’s when you ran into Ray Grayson’s bookstore, right?

Cassy's Response

Cassy: I was still shaken when I stumbled into the store. Ray immediately offered me a glass of water when he realized I could barely speak. He had such a warm, calming presence that I almost instantly felt safe. But when I tried to tell him about the Whisperers, I couldn’t bring myself to do it. I mean, how could I? Telling him about demonic creatures with living tattoos would make me sound crazy.

Question by Michael Hamannt

Michael: What happened next?

Cassy's Response

Cassy: I stayed, and we talked. His warm, friendly nature really did me good.

Question by Michael Hamannt

Michael: Sounds like he made quite an impression on you!

Cassy's Response

Cassy: It… it was kind of strange. We talked about books for a long time, and somehow, I immediately felt a connection with him. I’ve never experienced anything like that before.

Question by Michael Hamannt

Michael: And then he offered you a job?

Cassy's Response

Cassy: Not directly. There was a notice saying he was looking for an assistant. But when I mentioned it to him, Ray seemed confused, as if the notice had been put up without his knowledge. Which can’t be true, of course, since he’s the owner and no one else works there.

Question by Michael Hamannt

Michael: Hmm, do you think something strange is going on?

Cassy's Response

Cassy: The whole day was incredibly strange! And looking back now, I’m convinced that neither the Whisperer attack nor my visit to the bookstore was a coincidence. (sighs) If there’s really more to this, I’ll find out. And I still don’t know what happened to the guy who saved me. I hope he managed to escape the Whisperers.

Question by Michael Hamannt

Michael: Thank you, Cassy, for sharing this exciting story with us. We’re eager to find out what happens next.

Cassy's Response

Cassy: So am I!
